US based designer Alex Cornell was half way through his degree programme when he made this project, branding for a fictional film festival. He extended the idea to cover print graphics, promotional items and even a promotional trailer. It’s a great example of an independent student project. Chelsea’s Graphic Design Communication degree show had a great selection work. Show site here, a blog listing all the students final major projects (fmp) and a blog documenting how the show was put together. One of the students, Mitesh Mistry, designed a Gujarati typeface for his final project.

I went to some of the degree shows in London over the weekend. Central St Martins Graphics was probably the best of the bunch… a general review here, the show’s site here and one of the strongest graduate’s site. Also look at the work of UCA’s Graphics course, Camberwell’s Illustration course and Southampton Solent’s (where i used to teach) Illustration work.
